Notes
This 1980 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ45 is a right-hand-drive troop carrier that is finished in beige with a white top over a black interior. Power is from a 3.6-liter diesel inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Equipment includes BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain tires, a Smittybilt winch, air conditioning, and a modern head unit with a USB input.
The truck came finished in Dune Beige (416) from the factory and was refinished prior to the selling dealer’s acquisition. The hardtop features sliding side windows, a white top, and ambulance-style rear doors. A Smittybilt XRC 9,000-pound winch with a roller fairlead is mounted to the front bumper, and Teq mud flaps are fitted aft of the rear wheels.
The 16″ steel wheels are painted to match the body and wear BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 tires measuring 235/75. All four wheels feature dog dish hubcaps, and the truck is equipped with manually-locking front hubs. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners.
The cabin is painted to match the exterior and houses black Bestop front bucket seats as well as two rows of bench seats. Black vinyl mats cover the floors, and additional equipment includes manual windows and locks, an under-dash air conditioning system, and a Boss head unit with a USB input with speakers in the rear passenger compartment. A hand throttle control is located to the right of the steering wheel.
A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a body-colored dash that contains a 160-km/h speedometer as well as ancillary gauges for oil pressure, fuel level, temperature, and amperage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads approximately 97k kilometers (~60k miles), though actual mileage is unknown.
The 3.6 liter H diesel inline-six delivers power to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a two-speed transfer case. An electric cooling fan and an alternator are fitted.
Over $60k spent on the refurbishment by blalock customs in USA, one of the best companies for a full restoration in the world.
